Search the Full Recall Database

The searchable database includes thousands of U.S. CPSC recall records.

Search by:

  • product
  • brand
  • model
  • recall number

Results can include both individual recall records and relevant product-history categories.

What the Historical Pages Show

Historical recall pages may include:

  • number of qualifying recall records
  • years covered
  • affected U.S. units where reliably available
  • recall activity by year
  • related hazards
  • identified brands and companies
  • largest recalls
  • most recent recalls
  • links to official CPSC records

Historical totals are calculated from normalized recall data rather than simply counting every announcement as a separate event.

How the Data Is Built

The primary source is official U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall data.

Product Safety History normalizes product names, hazards and company information so related recalls can be analyzed together.

Expanded and reannounced recalls are handled separately where possible to reduce duplicate counting. Affected-unit totals include only quantities that can be reliably interpreted from the source data.
